Go to your start menu, click on All Programs, look through the menu to find Microsoft Update or Windows Update and click on one of those. Make sure you are online. Or go to Microsoft.com and see if you can get help there. You can also try system restore. Go to Start menu, click on Accessories, Click on System Tools, Click on System Restore. There you can reset your computer to a past time when your system wasn’t acting up. Also, do a Disk Cleanup. You’ll find that under Accessories. You can also do a Disk Defragment. In Explorer, you can click on Tools, Internet Options, Browsing History, and click on delete files, history and forms.

This is how I fix them. If you want to try.
First, right click My Computer>properties>advanced tab.
Choose start up and recovery.
Under system failure UNCHECK Automatically reboot.
Now, Do the following.
This is what I do.
You can print this and try it if you want.
*Download, install and the get the updates for Malwarebytes :
Malwarebytes
(not a spyware remover, cleans up all left over internet ‘crap’)
Ccleaner
When installing CCleaner, you don’t need to add it to recycle bin. But make sure check for updates is checked.
*Now, DISCONNECT from the internet. UNPLUG it.
*Next, boot up in safe mode (Tap the F8 key every few seconds as the system boots up until the screen Saying Safe Mode option appears).
*Now>> run the above spyware program.
*Then Run Ccleaner. I dont analyze, I just choose RUN. If you save passwords on your computer (which you shouldn’t) it will erase them.
(If for some reason you can not find a desktop icon for the programs, look under C/Programs for them.)
When thru reboot normally.
No need to run in safe mode if you use Ccleaner after you are online all the time for each user and run Malwarebytes every few weeks.
you can use the XP’s remote assistant service.
it’s simple and safe and secure.
